Privacy Policy

How information is handled when you enquire about a writing or copy editing assignment.

Information and purpose

The enquiry form asks for your name, work email, description of the task and agreement to this policy. These details are used to reply, assess your requirements and prepare a quote. If you commission work, correspondence and the information needed to fulfil the assignment and manage payment are also handled. Do not include sensitive personal information in the initial brief.

What the website does

The form prepares a mailto email draft in your chosen email application. Form entries are not saved in browser storage or submitted to a website database by this code. They are sent only when you complete the send action in your email application. Your email provider handles the draft and transmission under its own terms.

Service providers and safeguards

Received correspondence may be handled through email and file services used for the assignment. Providers may process information outside Canada, where local authorities may have lawful access. Information is limited to what is needed for the agreed work, and safeguards should reflect its sensitivity. This website does not include analytics, advertising trackers or an email marketing sign-up.

Retention and browser preferences

Enquiries and project records are kept only as long as needed for the stated purposes, including resolving project issues and meeting applicable record-keeping requirements. The website stores a notice-dismissal preference for 180 days in this browser; it contains a timestamp rather than contact details. See the Cookie Policy for its operation and reset control.

Access, corrections and consent

Contact [email protected] to ask about personal information held in connection with your enquiry, request access or a correction, or withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from continuing work that requires the information. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing records. Contact us about a privacy concern; where applicable, you may also raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Hosting and updates

A hosting provider may keep technical access logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for operation and security under its own practices. This code does not add tracking scripts. Any later addition of analytics or other storage needs a policy update and the appropriate choice mechanism. Last updated: October 6, 2026.
