Terms of Service
The basis for a clearly defined writing or copy editing assignment.
Enquiries and acceptance
Sending an enquiry does not purchase a service or create a confirmed booking. Work begins after the written proposal has been accepted and any agreed initial payment and material have been received. The proposal identifies the contracting service provider and confirms scope, price, applicable taxes and schedule before acceptance.
Scope and source material
The assignment is defined by the number of pieces, word count, format, source material and revision rounds in the accepted proposal. You provide accurate information and material you are entitled to use. Missing details are queried or marked for confirmation. Design, publishing, translation and original research are outside the listed packages.
Reviews and changes
You provide one consolidated set of comments per revision round. Revisions address wording, tone, emphasis and flow within the brief. Extra pieces, new topics or a substantially changed direction require a written scope and price update accepted before additional work. Our own errors are corrected without an extra fee.
Delivery and use
Editable files are supplied in the agreed format. Usage rights and any treatment of copyright are set out in the accepted proposal. Rights in supplied or referenced third-party material remain with their owners. You review and approve the final factual details before publication.
Timing and resolving issues
Displayed turnaround periods are indicative. The proposal confirms dates and review windows. If source material or feedback is delayed, the schedule is reviewed with you. Describe any issue by email, including the relevant passage and agreed requirement, so that a correction or other appropriate resolution can be considered. Writing does not guarantee a particular commercial or platform outcome.
Payments, cancellation and applicable rights
The Payment Policy and Refund Policy explain the proposed payment and cancellation arrangements. Applicable Canadian and Ontario law governs the agreement to the extent specified in the accepted proposal. Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer, privacy or other rights that apply to your transaction.
